Commissioned by Larchmont YC, the class name, as well as the name of individual boats were chosen as an affirmation of yachtsman's involvement in the recently concluded world war. The class was active on Long Island Sound up until the late 1940's.
Hull #1 was owned by Sherman Hoyt, known in yachting lore as the savior of the 1934 America's Cup.
