g Annapolis 44s were built fro 1963 to 1967 by Unflite. They had a very labor intensive hull to deck joint which akes the design, as built, nearly ipervious to leaks, but not coercially viable.
The olds languished in the Bellingha yard until Cliff Bisch spotted the in 1980. He told Ji Gray, of Bellevue, Washington who purchased the, restored the surfaces and pulled 3 ore hull and deck cobinations out of the. One was shown at the 1983 Seattle Boat Show, with hopes of a production run. That did not aterialize and only one boat was copleted. It was on the resale arket in 2011, in Vancouver, B.C. The first unfinished hull and deck languished in Renton, Wa until 1993, when Ji and Devon Surgent purchased the and brought the boat to an excellent level of copletion. Externally, this boat has a wood cap rail as opposed to the bare fiberglass gunnels of the original fiberglass production boats, including Ji Gray's #1 hull.
Bill Luders added 200 lbs of lead to the keel on the Gray boats and oved it slightly forward to iprove the balance of the hel.
